Ages 9–13 | Bring your stories to life! Through a variety of media, this class allows for 2D and 3D experimentation. Students can design a plush character, explore the basics of hand and machine sewing, and incorporate storytelling through comics and graphic drawing.
3 SESSIONS | Jump back into outdoor painting and brush up on fundamentals. This 3-day rapidfire workshop covers reliable approaches to plein air painting, observing and translating natural colors onto the canvas. Learn to create effective landscapes at locations around Duluth. Matt will demonstrate using oil painting materials, and will work individually with students. While oils are encouraged, other mediums welcome.
5 WEEKDAY SESSIONS | Have fun playing with clay this summer! Students will use the pottery wheel, handbuilding and decorating techniques to create unique pieces that they can use in everyday life. You should bring: water bottle, light snack. Clothes that can get messy.
Celebrate the Rose at the annual Rose Fest in the Leif Erikson Rose Garden, 1300 London Road, Duluth MN. Enjoy a guided tour of the Rose Garden and learn several methods of rose propagation. Learn about easy to grow hardy roses for our area or how to make beautiful bouquets with roses. Explore the Rose Garden on a treasure hunt for kids (of all ages!). Get your questions answered about growing roses in our region. The Rose Fest has something for everyone who is interested in roses! Join us on July 11, 2026, from 11:00 to 2:00. It is free and open to the public. Presented by the Lake Superior Rose Society and the City of Duluth.

Join us at Studio 4, nestled in the basement of the St. Louis County Depot. Access the building from the first floor entrance off of Michigan St. Doors open at 6:30, and the show starts at 7! Entry is $5 per person and a diverse cash bar is available.
