Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) is a Danish cultural concept centered around creating a sense of coziness, comfort, and well-being. It’s less about material things and more about atmosphere and togetherness. Hygge is considered a way to boost happiness and reduce stress, especially during long, dark winters. It’s about creating a sanctuary where you feel safe and content. We will explore the core principles of Hygge both with discussion and practices. Each date will be a “stand alone” workshop that will relate to but the will not directly build on other weeks. The workshop will occur on Saturdays from 10:00am -11:30am at Halcyon House.

Winter can often feel isolating due to cold temperatures and less daylight. This can lead to more time spent indoors and reduced social encounters. We know (through research) that social isolation can have serious health implications.
