Camping & RVing in Duluth

There is no better way to experience nature’s air conditioning than by waking up to the scent of balsam fir and the cool breeze of Lake Superior. Whether you’re piloting a 40-foot rig, seeking a rugged backcountry tent site, or looking for a family-friendly campground with all the amenities, Duluth is the ultimate basecamp for your North Shore adventure.

Welcome, Hikers & Bikers

Many of our campgrounds sit directly on the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) or the Duluth Traverse. You can literally un-zip your tent and be on a world-class trail in seconds.

For the Boaters

Choose a site near the St. Louis River Estuary for world-class kayaking, SUPing, and fishing. The warmer river waters are often a welcome alternative to the brisk Lake Superior temperatures!

Pet-Friendly Camping

We know your best friend has four legs and a wagging tail. Duluth is a paradise for adventure dogs, since nearly all local campgrounds are pet-friendly.

Hello, Rockhounds

Stay near the shore for easy morning access to the rocky beaches — prime territory for finding Lake Superior agates before the afternoon crowds arrive.

Big Rigs & Full Hookups

For those who travel with all the comforts of home, Duluth offers several high-capacity parks designed for easy navigation and maximum convenience.

    Firewood Alert

To help protect our beautiful forests from invasive species, please buy your firewood where you burn it. Most local campgrounds and gas stations sell certified heat-treated wood.

    Bear Aware

While sightings are a treat, remember that we are in bear country. Keep your “kitchen” clean and store all food, trash, and scented items in your vehicle or a bear-proof locker.

    The Lake Effect

Even in July, temperatures can drop significantly once the sun goes down. A evening fire is a must where permitted. Be sure to check regulations and pack your flannels!
