Emmy Woods (she/they) was born and raised on an old dirt road in rural North Dakota and currently resides in Saint Paul, MN. With hints of country, folk, and blues, Emmy’s songs showcase her knack for storytelling, her strengths in musical artistry, and her ethereal voice. Drawing on a range of influences including Billie Holiday, Emmylou Harris, & Against Me, Emmy has shared stages with such talents as Melissa Carper, Sarah Morris, Ryan Young of Trampled by Turtles, and Cam Whitcomb, to name a few. Emmy began writing at 13, however, her music remained unreleased and rarely performed until 2023, when she burst out of her living room and onto the Minnesota music scene with the release of 3 recorded collections. Rory Van James is a singer/songwriter from Duluth, MN. A former professional baseball player turned musician, Rory has carved out a unique voice through years of travel and performance. After debuting his first album The Passage, written in the solitude of Alaska and recorded in Seattle, he launched his ambitious double-vinyl project Sewn Silhouettes, recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London and Sage Arts Studio in Washington, and released in 2020.

Lydia Boyum & Ryan Lane | Live in the Yard!
Lydia Boyum & Ryan Lane are a singer/songwriter duo from Duluth, MN. Drawing from folk, Americana, and indie genres, they blend poetic and witty lyrics with catchy melodies in their original songs. Their music is influenced by artists such as Leonard Cohen, Jason Isbell, Kris Kristofferson, and Colbie Caillat. Lydia’s debut EP, “Paradise Lost,” as well as Ryan’s debut album, “Aspiring Romantic,” can be found on all streaming platforms.
Rich Mattson and the Northstars
Over the course of his long and illustrious musical career sprouting from the same teal backwater as Bob Dylan on northern Minnesota’s Iron Range, Rich Mattson came up learning songs from John Denver to Van Halen with a little Elvis Costello and Neil Young tossed into the mix. Add in some heaping handfuls of U2, the Replacements, and CCR and blend until the ingredients come splattering in bits and pieces and you have around 500 tunes and this fella’s discography. Now residing in Sparta MN with his life and love partner Germaine Gemberling, the two have been writing, recording, and performing (among other things) together since 2010. The latest incarnation of the Northstars (with longtime drummer and cohort Keely Lane and bassist Kyle Westrick) features Duluth’s Dan Anderson on keys.
