This series is the premier Minnesota summer concert experience, featuring Duluth and Minnesota-made artists performing on our pier that juts out into Lake Superior. Concertgoers pack the shoreline and arrive to watch the show via every type of watercraft imaginable or sit along the shoreline. Openers perform 5:30pm – 6pm continuing with headliners from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Plan Now For A Perfect Summer Night at Glensheen Celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2026, the Concerts on the Pier series is a FREE event every Wednesday, July – August. Bring a lawn chair or explore the grounds to find the perfect spot to enjoy music by local favorites. Come by car, foot or watercraft – all people and ages are welcome! Food and beverages are available for purchase. The event is free and open to the public from 5:30 to 8 pm. Gates open at 5 pm, however, for those interested, early access can be obtained by purchasing grounds admission or a tour. Each night, the opener will perform from 5:30-6 pm and the headliner will play from 6:30-8 pm. The Lake Superior Ice Festival is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration that brings together the entire community to embrace the magic of winter. Coordinated through the efforts of local organizations, volunteers, and partners, the festival showcases Superior’s unique charm and our shared love for the season. Our vision is to create an inclusive and welcoming experience that invites people of all ages and abilities to gather, explore, and enjoy the many wonders of winter in our beautiful lakeside city. From sparkling ice sculptures and outdoor activities to warm food and friendly faces, the Lake Superior Ice Festival is a joyful reminder of the resilience, creativity, and spirit that make Superior truly special. While attendance at the Lake Superior Ice Festival is free, there are certain optional events that do have costs associated. Duluth Public Schools started the Unity In Our Community back-to-school event held at Bayfront Festival Park in 2022. Each year we celebrate our students, staff, families, and district. At this event, we have booths, speakers, school and community groups performing on stage, fun activities for kids, and so much more. We also continue to have a free backpack giveaway for families who need it provided by Neighborhood Youth Services and provide a free meal to all who attend. We also pay for transportation hubs around the city using our buses to help break down barriers. The 2025 event will be at Bayfront Festival from 3:30-7pm on Monday, August 18, 2025.
