Imagine a Minnesota gripped by: Bitter polarization as farmers and workers challenged the wealthy. Fierce campaigns for women’s suffrage and against alcohol. The fight for racial justice by African Americans against Jim Crow and lynchings. Rising nativism and a flagrant disregard for democratic norms.
