Our Wednesday Night at the Races series has become one of our most popular Young Athletes Foundation (YAF) programs! The Wednesday Night at the Races series is free and open to any child ages 14 & under. Whether it’s your child’s first-ever race or they’ve just fallen in love with running, we’d love to see them at our next event! The summer series starts in late July and continues throughout August, culminating in our last race of the year which includes a free shirt for every participant and year-end picnic for the kids and their families! 2026 Wednesday Night at the Races All races start at 6pm. Our Siiviis Gallery summer exhibition, North Shore Folklore, is an exploration of the mysterious, unknown and intriguing in and around the North Shore. Do you know any tall tales of the Great Lakes, heard or invented; any inexplicable occurrences? Can you describe something intriguing or secret about the deep places in the world? How would you depict magic associated with being in or near big water? Please join us at our opening reception on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 2:00-5:00p. If you can’t join us on the opening day, don’t worry! It will be on display Saturday, July 11, 2026 – August 31, 2026.
Join the Strikepoint, one of the top handbell ensembles in the world, before they head off to Scotland for the 22nd International Handbell Symposium! You’ll hear some of the music to be played at the Symposium, along with a new piece by Strikepoint director Derek Bromme. Admission free; $18 suggested donation.

Join us in the woods at the Cloquet Forestry Center for an evening of information exchange and community building. We will have a community social hour which will include an alumni gathering. There will also be a variety of information tables from Extension, Fond du Lac Natural Resources, and Bemidji State University to name a few! During this time Room at the Table will have their food truck on site ready to simplify your dinner plans. After the social hour we will host a few wagon tours showcasing some ongoing projects out in the forest, and presentations centered around climate ready woodlands. You are welcome to stick around until the end of the evening when we will draw our raffle prize winner, though you need not be present to win.
Stellar DSSO concertmaster Erin Aldridge joins the NSPO to perform the Tchaikovsky violin concerto. Also featured is the dramatic second symphony by Sibelius, plus Rossini’s William Tell Overture. Conductor J. David Arnott leads this full orchestra in its 16th summer season. This regional group is dedicated to providing high-quality music to the Northland FREE OF CHARGE (free-will offerings appreciated).
