Watercolor & Drawing Workshop with Linnea Rose

Kick off the new year with a splash of color! Throughout the month of January, we will welcome local artist Linnea Rose as our Artist-in-Residence. Families are invited to take part in a special series of watercolor and drawing workshops offered every Tuesday from 10:00–11:00 a.m. These sessions are designed for all ages and skill levels — whether your child loves to doodle, explore new art materials, or simply experiment with color. Each week, Linnea will guide young artists through creative prompts, playful techniques, and hands-on artmaking that encourages curiosity and imagination. Caregivers are welcome to join in while kids explore the joy of making art in a supportive, engaging environment. Write the Light Community Art Fair

Write the Light is a free, family-friendly, sober-friendly, sensory-aware creative gathering held in partnership with the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum in Duluth. Join us on January 3, 2026, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. at 902 East 1st Street, Duluth, MN, as we celebrate the closing of the museum’s current exhibit and the featured artist in their gallery. This evening invites artists, families, dreamers, and community members of all ages into the historic halls of the Karpeles for an experience rooted in art, intention, and connection. The event features a Craft & Vendor Market showcasing local makers and holistic-healing services, along with several interactive stations open to all ages. Guests can write their own “manuscript” with quill and parchment, contribute to a large community art mural, or sculpt a small clay artifact inspired by their hopes for the coming year. Leadership Duluth is a comprehensive 10-month leadership development program by the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce that aims to unite, engage, and empower leaders to foster change within their workplace and community. Throughout the program, participants examine core leadership competencies, learn about Duluth’s cultural and business history, and discuss current issues facing the region. As a result, participants grow to understand the elements of a strong community and how their leadership can create opportunities within a business and cultivate a robust economy.
