A Bell Noel: Ringing in the Holidays!
First United Methodist Church 230 E Skyline Pkwy, Duluth, MN, United StatesJoin Strikepoint, Duluth's internationally-acclaimed handbell ensemble, for their annual holiday concert. Strikepoint is noted for capturing the enthusiasm of audiences with its dynamic style and accessible music. Concert selections range from a rip-roaring Farandole to a surprising Diminished Minor Alterations, which presents a medley of familiar carols but in a minor key, to the ever-popular Sleigh Ride. Reviews of Strikepoint concerts have praised their “athleticism and showmanship,” “rhythmic precision, musical nuance, and technical confidence,” with an “exceptionally creative bent!” Joining Strikepoint will be some of their musical friends, including organist Velda Graham Bell, flutist Melanie Sever, and percussionist Jeremy Craycraft. Duluth Fiber Guild Fiber Fair & Sale
First United Methodist Church 230 E Skyline Pkwy, Duluth, MN, United StatesDuluth Fiber Guild members are preparing for their Annual Fiber Art Fair & Sale. The event is open to the public and will be held Saturday, November 15, from 10 am – 3 pm at the First United Methodist Church (the Coppertop) at 230 E. Skyline Parkway, Duluth. The Annual Fiber Art Fair & Sale offers high-quality finely crafted textile art items, including: handwovens (scarves, table runners, fine tea towels, wall hangings, placemats); handknits (socks, hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters); felted items (ornaments, framed originals, birdhouses, bowls, scarves); baskets; fleece and roving from local farms; hand spun yarn; up-cycled items made from discarded fabrics and more. Items are made from natural fibers: wool, cotton, bamboo, silk, tencel, rayon, and linen. Some of the fibers are produced on local sheep and alpaca farms, and the spinning group is experimenting with growing flax and processing it into linen. All items are locally made....

Strikepoint Handbell Concert
First United Methodist Church 230 E Skyline Pkwy, Duluth, MN, United StatesStrikepoint, an internationally-acclaimed handbell ensemble based in Duluth, Minnesota, will be performing at 7:00pm on Sunday, August 10 at First United Methodist Church (230 E. Skyline Parkway) in Duluth. Admission is free but an $18 donation is suggested. This performance is conclusion of Strikepoint’s 2025 summer concert tour, which took them as far west as Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Strikepoint was established in 1984 and has been touring annually since 1986. Their travels have taken them to England, Scotland, Japan, Hong Kong, Sweden, Canada, Hawaii and throughout the mainland U.S. They have performed at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, Sterling Castle in Scotland, Disney World in Florida, and both Disneyland and the Crystal Cathedral in California. Locally, they have performed with the Arrowhead Chorale, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, and the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra.
