This festival celebrates the connection between humans and wild winters through inspiring, human-powered stories and backcountry adventures. Touring 100+ cities, it supports local conservation, winter education, and avalanche safety programs. The Lake Superior Ice Festival is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration that brings together the entire community to embrace the magic of winter. Coordinated through the efforts of local organizations, volunteers, and partners, the festival showcases Superior’s unique charm and our shared love for the season. Our vision is to create an inclusive and welcoming experience that invites people of all ages and abilities to gather, explore, and enjoy the many wonders of winter in our beautiful lakeside city. Join Us for a Free LiveWell Pickleball Tournament! Hosted at the UW-Superior Marcovich Wellness Center Field House, this exciting fun, non-competitive doubles tournament is open to players of all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, we’ve got a division for you. Sign up by yourself to be placed with a partner or with your teammate! Children aged 12-17 are welcome to join, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during the tournament.
