Trains & Toddlers
Join us for story time and a toddler friendly craft from 10:00am -11:30am. 1/2 price admission: $7/adults, $4/kids (3-13) This event is free for members and children 2 and under. We are a participating member of a program called Museums for All that enables us to offer free admission to Trains and Toddlers to SNAP recipients.
Carlton County Animal Rescue Adoption Event
Join Carlton County Animal Rescue at PetSmart in Duluth twice during National Adoption Week! Thursday 3/26 from 5–7:30 pm and Sunday 3/29 from 11 am–2 pm. Meet adoptable puppies, adult dogs, and friendly felines as well! We encourage you to complete an adoption application in advance to start the process to adopt! Apply today.
Science on Deck
This Science on Deck event has collaborated with the Duluth Public Library for their “Libraries Love Lakes.” Enjoy guided tours of the research vessel from the crew, interact with graduate students working on freshwater research, and explore engaging displays. Hands-On History Day
As part of the Twin Ports Festival of History, the Duluth Children’s Museum is offering FREE admission from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM on Sunday, March 29th for a special day of hands-on history fun. Our interns from UMD’s Museum Studies program will be showcasing unique historical items from the museum’s collection. Get up close, ask questions, and discover the stories behind the objects! It’s a chance for families to explore, imagine, and experience history together. We can’t wait to see you there! No preregistration required.
The Art of Music: A Creative Family Workshop
A creative morning where families explore the connection between sound and color in partnership with the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra. This workshop, designed for children and grown-ups to participate together, includes time to explore the museum, an engaging and interactive music lesson led by professional musicians, and a hands-on art project inspired by the rhythms and melodies of the day. Recommended for children ages 0–10 and their caregivers.
