Red Arrow Across the Pacific

Mark Van Ells will be speaking at the Bong Center about the Thirty-Second “Red Arrow” Infantry Division and the crucial role it played for the Allied Forces in World War II. Van Ells is a professor of history at Queensborough Community College of the City University of New York and the author of the previous books To Hear Only Thunder Again: America’s World War II Veterans Come Home and America and World War I: A Traveler’s Guide.

“Perpich: A Minnesota Original” with Ben Schierer

Ben Schierer, author of Perpich: A Minnesota Original, will be at Split Rock Lighthouse for a book signing. Rudy Perpich was one of a kind. As Minnesota’s longest-serving governor, he built bridges where others saw impassible divides: between rural and urban life, labor and business interests, local politics and international trade. Perpich: A Minnesota Original explores the life and legacy of one of the state’s most consequential political figures. Get your copy of the book signed and meet Ben Schierer. Books will be available for purchase.
