Holding the crown as northern Minnesota’s oldest road race, the Park Point 5-Miler & 2-Mile Walk starts and finishes near the Park Point Pavilion in Duluth, MN. A picturesque course sandwiched between the open water of Lake Superior and the Duluth Harbor, this event offers a perfect mid-summer option for runners and walkers alike. The 5-Miler is a more competitive running field but is now preceded by a 2-Mile Walk, which encourages people of all ages and abilities to come out and enjoy Duluth’s Park Point. This is the last of three races involved in the annual KP Challenge, in which participants commit to three races throughout the spring and summer. Using your senses to find comfort is a powerful way to ground yourself and reduce stress. We will explore, through direct practice, how to use our 8 senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, taste, proprioception, vestibular and interoception) to shift our nervous system toward ease. Each date will be a “stand alone” workshop that will relate to but the will not directly build on other weeks. The workshop will occur on Saturdays from 10:00am – 11:30am at Halcyon House.

The Polar Plunges are annual events organized by Special Olympics Minnesota; an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. Plunge participation helps make a significant difference in supporting these athletes. Those who fundraise for their Polar Plunge get the chance to jump into a lake. If you fundraise, you are not required to jump. The event is open to the public to cheer on and support plungers! Volunteers are welcome! The plunge starts at 2:00pm (subject to change – check the website). Day of Registration/check-in is at 310 Pub starting at 11:00am. Check the website for more details!
