Gather at the Play Area near the Food Court for an hour of exciting tales, interactive storytelling, and playful surprises that will spark every child’s love for reading. Each week, little book lovers will receive a special book bag filled with fun giveaway items—perfect for continuing the storytime magic at home! While the kids are swept away by adventurous tales, parents and guardians can sign up on-site to become a Mall Insider® for a chance to win one of three grand prizes awarded at the end of the series. The DECC’s Pop-Up Pirate Barrr has a bird’s eye view of the Tall Ships along the seawall! Come enjoy pirate-y beverages on our deck or by the huge windows of the DECC’s Harbor Side Convention Center Thursday: 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM (includes the Parade of Sail) Friday: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM Saturday: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM Location: Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, Enter by Door G near the Vista Fleet or via the Skyway. Admission: FREE TO ATTEND – No ticket necessary for entrance to the barrr. The Festival of Sail is a ticketed event granting access to the street level in front of the ships. Join us in extending a warm Duluth welcome to the cruise ship and its passengers. Harbor Drive is closed to road traffic during this time, please park and walk to the harbor. Caution: Harbor Drive includes restricted zones. Kindly remain vigilant of your surroundings and refrain from entering these areas. Duluth welcomed a handful of cruise ships in the mid-1990s and early 2000s. However, 2022 saw a new era of passenger cruising come to the Twin Ports. In the summer of 2025, ten ships will enter our Duluth-Superior harbor under the Lift Bridge. Duluth is now considered an attractive passenger destination and the cruise industry forecasts more leisure cruises in our area in the years to come. Celebrate two exhibitions exploring facets of history and humanity through their unique approaches to reuse of materials at this art reception and artist talk. Heidi Wanzek explores our fragile, evolving place within the cycle of life and death in her show Within the Threshold, while Charvis Harrell reframes history and identity through a Black perspective in his show The Games We Play. Meet the artists, talk about the art, and enjoy an evening out with appetizers and drinks at this Art Night Out.
The Rose Fest will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Leif Erikson Rose Garden, 1300 London Road, Duluth MN. It is free and open to the public. Take a guided tour of the Rose Garden. Attend classes on rose growing basics, roses in the garden or containers. Learn about easy to grow roses for our area or join a treasure hunt for kids of all ages. Get your questions answered about growing roses in our region.
