The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) will host a series of listening sessions in August to gather regional input on the organization’s direction for facility programming and capital investment priorities. The facilitated 90-minute sessions will gather viewpoints from the public, regional partners, stakeholders, and elected leaders to discuss the DECC’s future. All feedback will be presented to the DECC’s board of directors to guide decisions on growth and programming to serve the needs of the region. Background: Two years ago, DECC staff worked with a national consultant to review its overall operation. After many discussions, it was evident that the DECC needed a clearer sense of its public purpose. Once this process is complete, the DECC will be able to better focus on serving the needs of the region and more clearly communicate its purpose to external audiences.
