DECC Listening Sessions

The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) will host a series of listening sessions in August to gather regional input on the organization’s direction for facility programming and capital investment priorities. The facilitated 90-minute sessions will gather viewpoints from the public, regional partners, stakeholders, and elected leaders to discuss the DECC’s future. All feedback will be presented to the DECC’s board of directors to guide decisions on growth and programming to serve the needs of the region. Background: Two years ago, DECC staff worked with a national consultant to review its overall operation. After many discussions, it was evident that the DECC needed a clearer sense of its public purpose.  Once this process is complete, the DECC will be able to better focus on serving the needs of the region and more clearly communicate its purpose to external audiences. A Shakespeare Teen Intensive – Performances on August 22-24 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) at Hartley Nature Center Outdoor Amphitheater ALL SHOWS at 6:00pm FREE | First Come, First Served (there are wooden benches and lots of space, read more below) Show starts at 6pm rain or shine! In case of inclement weather a “make up” performance will take place Sunday, August 24th, location TBD. Bring a picnic, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and bug spray is recommended. Zeitgeist will have concessions available! The show is free to the public with a $10 suggested donation that will go towards future youth Shakespeare adventures! Fun for the whole fam!
