Full Moon Gathering

Join the St. Louis River Alliance and Allouez Bay project partners on Tuesday, October 7, for a full moon gathering on Wisconsin Point. The evening begins at 4:30pm with a welcome in Lot 1. A self-guided walk along Bear Creek Trail (Makwa Ziibiins Miikana) will begin shortly after 4:30pm. Explore recent upgrades, including a pavilion, interpretive signage, and native plantings. At 5:15pm, gather for hot tea before the program begins (hopefully around a fire) at 5:30pm. Maria and the Coins

Maria and the Coins are an indie pop-rock band based in Minneapolis, MN. Over the last decade, the fivesome have released a tapestry of big-picture pop anthems, soulful ballads, and driving-with-the-windows-down-belt-your-heart-out bangers. One idea remains a constant through it all: reminding listeners to keep moving forward. Maria and the Coins have opened for Christina Perri, Jukebox the Ghost, Papa Roach and Haley Reinhart. They have been featured on American Songwriter, The Current, Jazz88, and KFAI. Their 2024 mental health anthem “Something Good” will be featured in the upcoming independent film “interiorem pueri” next spring.

Photography & Art at the Rock: Shelley Getten

For the month of October, we are proud to feature Shelley Getten, who has been a printmaker since 2005. All of her art (and poetry) is deeply rooted in our connection to the Earth and its creatures. This connection is what binds us as inhabitants of an increasingly fragile planet. The exhibit, North Shore Life represents work created since moving to the North Shore from the Twin Cities seventeen years ago!
