History in a Pint: Eagle’s Nest Photo Album

Veterans Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum announce their next event in the local history presentation series, History in a Pint. The presentation will feature an item from our Collection known as “The Eagle’s Nest Photo Album.” The speaker will be Jay Hagen, the Veterans Memorial Hall Program Manager. It will take place in the Lake Superior Railroad Museum at the St. Louis County DEPOT on Thursday, October 23, at 5:30 pm. The Eagle’s Nest Photo Album is part of the St. Louis County Historical Society’s collection stored in the Albert J. Amatuzio Research Center. Duluthian Veteran Lawrence Swan brought home the album when the 101st Airbourne was given the privilege to be the first unit to enter Hitler’s infamous Eagle’s Nest during the close of WWII in Europe. Winter Clothing Drive

Ice Cream Should Be Cold, Your Neighbors Should NOT Be! Our annual winter clothing drive is coming up quick! On Thursday, October 23rd, stop in to our office or Life 97.3 at 1101 E. Central Entrance to drop off New or Gently used, Mittens, Hats, and Jackets for our local schools. Consider stopping into Twin Ports Trailer Trash on October 22nd from 8am – 4pm for free Mattress Drop-Offs along with the winter clothing drive! Donate and you will get some free ice cream! As we work closely with the local schools, all donation will be sorted and sent to the schools based on their needs! Help us keep our neighborhood warm this winter! We hope to see you there!
