The Lake Superior Ice Festival is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration that brings together the entire community to embrace the magic of winter. Coordinated through the efforts of local organizations, volunteers, and partners, the festival showcases Superior’s unique charm and our shared love for the season. Our vision is to create an inclusive and welcoming experience that invites people of all ages and abilities to gather, explore, and enjoy the many wonders of winter in our beautiful lakeside city. From sparkling ice sculptures and outdoor activities to warm food and friendly faces, the Lake Superior Ice Festival is a joyful reminder of the resilience, creativity, and spirit that make Superior truly special. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the tragic sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the Richard I Bong Veterans Historical Center will host a special evening program on Thursday November 13th featuring Great Lakes historian Ryan Mihalak and longtime Northland weatherman Dave Anderson. Great Lakes historian Ryan Mihalak will recount the story of the ship’s final voyage. Veteran meteorologist Dave Anderson will provide expert commentary on the weather systems that converged to create one of the most powerful and destructive storms in Lake Superior’s history —conditions that doomed even the most seasoned sailors.

The Bridge to Wellness Health Fair is all about being Healthy For Life! This year the Duluth Women of Today are joining forces with the Veterans Memorial Hall in sponsoring our 2025 Veterans Day Ceremonies. This year marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in the Great Hall of the DEPOT (506 W. Michigan St). The program will begin promptly at 11 AM and will include an array of patriotic music provided by the Spirit Valley Drum & Bugle Corps., the Superior Senior High School Choir, bag piper Kerry Welch and the National Anthem will be sung by Aalyiah Gebhardt. The guest speaker will be Bob Stephens, 10-year U.S. Navy Veteran, and regular member of the American Legion Hall Post #71.
