The 3rd Annual Gender Joy Art Show is being held from May 4th to June 27th with an opening reception on Thursday, May 7th from 5-7pm. Organized by YWCA Duluth and PAVSA and exhibited in the Zeitgeist atrium and Teatro, this year’s show not only includes artwork from girls, women and gender expansive people but features survivor artwork from PAVSA’s weekly Art Group, all representing how each finds joy in their gender. Event attendees will get a chance to express themselves in an interactive community art project hosted by Art of Presence and will have an opportunity to heal through collective action and see their collaborative piece evolve into a finished painting displayed for the remainder of the show. Light refreshments will be offered as well as an opportunity to learn more about YWCA Duluth and PAVSA’s work in our community. Most pieces of artwork will be available for purchase…
“Frame It” is a new exhibition that combines writing and art. Come to the opening reception where there will be over 30 local artist vendors! An open mic will start at 3:00pm. Listen as creatives share their work or take to the stage yourself! Free to attend. Celebrate writing and local artists in the City of Superior at the Douglas County Historical Society on May 3, 2026 from 2:00-6:00 pm. The exhibition runs through May, and art will be hanging in the Douglas County Historical Society all month.

A waitress finds a love note from a mysterious customer and begins a letter-writing romance. Little does she know the object of her growing love is an aging immigrant wine grower. Fearing rejection, he sends her another man’s photograph. This beautiful story marks the revival of TTT’s second-ever musical, asking who deserves love and how we come to understand each other. Duluth Sister Cities is sponsoring a free showing of the Oscar award-winning film, Mr. Nobody vs. Putin at Zeitgeist Theater on Wednesday, April 29 at 6:30pm. Russian teacher, Pavel “Pasha” Talankin, documents the systematic indoctrination of his students after Russia declared war with Ukraine. This powerful film explores the complexities of modern geopolitics through a deeply human lens. Following the screening, DSCI board member JP Gresh — who has served as a military attaché in both Ukraine and Russia — will lead a discussion on cultural dynamics in Russia and the long-term impact of Russia’s war on Ukraine. Admission is free and all are welcome.
You are invited to Great Lakes Atelier of Fine Art’s Annual Student/Instructor Exhibit. There will be examples of full-time student work, part time student work, instructor work, and children’s class student work on display. Most of the work will be available for purchase. It’s a great opportunity to support these young artists in-the-making and to own quality, original fine art. This year, the Atelier is excited to have the Sunhee’s Little Table Korean food truck on site both days.
