Date Saturday, June 6th, 2026 What The Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) turns 40 this year, and we are celebrating on Saturday, June 6. First up is a Trail-wide hike. Register for your preferred section of the SHT to hike, run, or saunter on our event webpage. After your time on the Trail, celebrate with us at one of four epic birthday parties hosted by local businesses. You bring the stories and we’ll bring the cake! Join us in making this 40th birthday party a tale worth telling for the next 40 years. We’re bringing music to The Yard! The Gemstones are Duluth’s funktastic soul/rock band hitting you hard in the groove bone – the kind of band your mom wishes she grew up listening to. Whether it be Courtney Ellian’s smooth and sultry vocals or keys playing, Manny Eisele loving the low-end on bass/vocals, Josh Nickila’s vintage sound on guitar/vocals, or Ian Hopp’s “madman on funkahol” drumming/vocals; this is a powerhouse of soundscapes and all-around funk/rock sex-suasion – musically. Live from the yard! Justine Fosle is local musician who was born and raised in Duluth. Her original music primarily features songs about embracing nature in everyday life. She also is fond of covering some of her favorite tunes as well. She enjoys playing with multiple artists in town, with her twin brother Joe joining in for this show among other amazing artists.
