The Swing into Spring Festival

Join the Duluth East Student Government at the Swing into Spring Festival on April 19th. This community centered event will offer family-friendly activities such as live music, dancing, face painting, bracelet making, yard games, rock painting, and free lemonade and cookies. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on baskets donated by local businesses. All proceeds will go directly to non-profits present at this event, such as The Depot Foundation, The League of Women Voters Duluth, The Damiano Center, and more. We will also be collecting canned food and gently used clothing items to be distributed in our community. All are welcome!

Anishinaabe Canoe Migration: Culture and Connection on the St. Louis River

What’s happening on the St. Louis River right now? Join us for our new River Revival event series, a monthly gathering to learn about the river, ongoing restoration at Wisconsin Point and Allouez Bay, and ways to connect with this special place. Hosted the third Thursday of the month April–September, each event features engaging presentations from local partners and knowledge holders. Attendees will also have the chance to enjoy hands-on creative activities, informal conversation, and opportunities to share their questions and perspectives. Join us for our first River Revival on Thursday, April 16, from 5–6:30 PM at the Superior Public Library. No painting experience necessary! Join us to paint your favorite pet in an abstract way! You will send in a “clear” pic of your favorite animal as soon as you register for the class to: paintnook@hotmail.com. At the event, you will transform that pic to a colorful abstract work of art. A River Resurgence: The Return of Manoomin

Join the St. Louis River Alliance and St. Louis River Area of Concern coordinators for an evening celebrating the recovery of manoomin (wild rice) in the St. Louis River Estuary. This free community event will take place Tuesday, April 7, from 5:30–7:30 PM at Clyde Iron Works, 2920 W. Michigan St., Duluth. Discover why manoomin is vital to the health of the river, what its return tells us about decades of restoration work, and what this progress means for the future of our community.
