All aboard for a fall adventure like no other — the Great Pumpkin Train! Once a year, a magical pumpkin field appears along the tracks, and the only way to reach it is by train. Everyone gets a pumpkin! Admission to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum is included, so when you’re done pumpkin-picking, you can explore trains, history, and plenty of indoor fun at the Depot like balloon twisting, ventriloquist, magic, and more. It’s a Duluth tradition that’s equal parts festive, cozy, and a little bit quirky — just like autumn itself. When your train pulls into the pumpkin patch, every ticketed passenger gets to claim their very own pumpkin to haul home. SLCHS AND VETERANS MEMORIAL HALL TO HOST 20TH ANNUAL REMEMBRANCE DINNER ON DECEMBER 4, 2025 The St. Louis County Historical Society (SLCHS) and Veterans Memorial Hall (VMH) invite the community to the 20th Annual Remembrance Dinner, a special event dedicated to honoring our nation’s history and service members. The evening will feature local icon Dave Anderson (Northern News Now, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary), who will deliver the keynote address sharing his powerful interviews with local Pearl Harbor survivors. The dinner’s purpose is to continue to remember December 7th, 1941—the “Day that will live in Infamy”—84 years ago. Whiplash, Casablanca, Austin Powers, and even A Charlie Brown Christmas are all examples of the deep history of big band jazz showing up in film, and also share the distinction of being movies we’re playing tunes from in the Duluth Community Jazz Band’s winter concert. DCJB is made up of passionate, talented community musicians who are your friends, neighbors, and coworkers that want to play high level music but not as a profession. Don’t let the word “community” fool you – this band can really swing. This concert was made possible by a generous grant from The Depot Foundation, and is free of admission asking only for a charitable donation to support community music if you are able.
