The 3rd Annual Gender Joy Art Show is being held from May 4th to June 27th with an opening reception on Thursday, May 7th from 5-7pm. Organized by YWCA Duluth and PAVSA and exhibited in the Zeitgeist atrium and Teatro, this year’s show not only includes artwork from girls, women and gender expansive people but features survivor artwork from PAVSA’s weekly Art Group, all representing how each finds joy in their gender. Event attendees will get a chance to express themselves in an interactive community art project hosted by Art of Presence and will have an opportunity to heal through collective action and see their collaborative piece evolve into a finished painting displayed for the remainder of the show. The DAI Annual Member Show (AMS) showcases a diverse range of artistic expressions and mediums. From vibrant paintings and drawings to photography, ceramics, and fiber art, this group exhibition features approximately 250 unique pieces, celebrating the immense talent and creativity of the DAI member artists. During the reception, guests will vote for the People’s Choice Award, which is announced and awarded the same evening. This event also serves as our Annual Members meeting where DAI members may vote on the Board of Director officers and welcome new members.
