Q4 junk journaling with denise voie de vie copy web

Junk Journaling with Denise Voie de Vie

Junk journaling (or art journaling) is accessible to everyone, fun, a great way to upcycle materials you already have, and a way to let go of preconceived notions of any artistic outcome. This class is all about the journey. These two sessions are designed to be taken either together or individually. Participants in the first session will create their own unique junk journal. In the second session, participants will explore color and materials via some art exercises, then use those results to start embellishing their junk journals. Everyone is welcome—no prior journaling or art experience is necessary, and creating with friends, family, and/or loved ones works great. Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Unbreaking’s Live Music & Crafts

Join us for an evening of creativity, connection, and relaxation as local musicians fill the space with gentle live music designed to be enjoyed rather than shouted over. This isn’t a loud concert, crowded bar, or high-energy venue. It’s a chance to slow down, settle in, and enjoy being around other people in a warm, welcoming environment. For this one, we’ve secured a band made of two cool cats, The Trash Cats, who specialize in playful banter, 90’s to current music, and the best free cat stickers in town. Bring your own craft project if you’d like. Knitting, crochet, embroidery, drawing, coloring, journaling, hand sewing, and other low-mess creative projects are all welcome. If you’d rather travel light, we’ll have supplies available including coloring pages, colored pencils, markers, yarn, crochet hooks, knitting needles, scissors, and simple beginner-friendly crafts. Our space is designed for comfort. Sink into a cozy chair, spread…

Baharat | Live Music in the Yard

Multicultural post-rock group Baharat is composed of vocalist Lyla Abukhodair, guitarists Emanuel Eisele and Marshall Dillon, bassist Jackson Engstrom, and drummer Rob Runnels. Having deep roots throughout the Duluth music scene, each musician brings their own unique flavor to the namesake Middle Eastern spice mix, which reflects Abukhodair’s Palestinian heritage. Since the release of their singles in 2024, following their Trampled by Turtles Palomino Grant, the band has been marinating on new material and is ready to slap it on the grill in front of everyone. Drawing influence from Midwest emo, folk, and punk, there is something to satiate every palate.
