The St. Louis River Estuary is a hidden sanctuary for bald eagles, osprey, and Northland wildlife. Bring your camera for unparalleled views of the Duluth riverfront. Best to arrive about a half-hour before departure. Our ticket office is located just off of Grand Avenue.
June at the Rock is a celebration of creativity, community, and place. We are proud to feature Voyageur Artists, a collective of local artists from Two Harbors whose work reflects the beauty and character of Minnesota’s North Shore. This group exhibit brings together a diverse range of styles, perspectives, and mediums — all rooted in a shared connection to the landscapes, waters, and communities that define this region. From painting to photography and beyond, each piece offers a unique interpretation of place. Voyageur Artists are dedicated to inspiring creativity within the community through exhibitions, workshops, and educational opportunities. Their work not only celebrates the North Shore, but also supports the next generation of artists through scholarships and outreach. Ben McGaffey is a representational oil painter and draftsman whose work centers on rediscovering what feels true and worth holding onto. Beauty is to be found in our everyday lives as long as we adjust our focus. Ben has spent the past eight years studying under Jeffrey T. Larson, receiving an education in the rigorous discipline of classical art training.
