First constructed in 1941 as a Works Progress Administration project, Wade Stadium underwent major renovations in 2015, including the installation of a modern turf field. This iconic stadium accommodates heavy use by the Duluth Huskies, the College of St. Scholastica Saints, and various high school baseball teams, making it a central hub for Duluth baseball.

We are an independent, non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. We are dedicated to environmental education for all people, focusing on youth from the surrounding region. Hartley Nature Center resides in a beautiful 12,500 square foot building on Woodland Avenue on the north side of Hartley Park. In addition to providing programs, equipment rental, park and trail work, we also dispense general park information. Hartley Nature Center relies on income from program fees, sponsorship, donor gifts, membership dues, and grants to continue operating. We do not receive financial support from the City of Duluth. Nature Center Hours Hartley Nature Center is open to the public 9am-4pm Monday-Saturday. The outdoor campus is open to the public Saturdays & Sundays 9am-4pm.
Congdon Blvd. & Brighton Beach Rd. | Duluth, MN Located at the eastern edge of Duluth, Kitchi-Gammi Park — formerly Brighton Beach — is where locals and visitors alike come to soak up the raw beauty of Lake Superior’s shoreline. Known for its wave-washed stone beach and iconic views, this lakeside gem offers everything from picnic tables and public grills to a swing set and carry-in canoe access. Originally developed in 1922 as an auto tourist campground, the park now serves as a peaceful escape for swimming, paddling, birdwatching, and biking. It also marks the eastern end of the Lakewalk, making it the perfect launch point for a scenic stroll or ride along the lake. Planning something special? Scenic Drive | Duluth & Two Harbors, MN Just northeast of Duluth along Scenic Highway 61, Stoney Point offers one of the most jaw-dropping stretches of Lake Superior shoreline. This one-mile gravel loop is tucked between Duluth and Two Harbors, making it an easy detour for anyone craving fresh air, wild waves, and peaceful views. On calm days, you’ll find folks basking on ledgerock, skipping stones, hunting rocks, and sharing a picnic with friends, family, or four-legged companions. When storms roll in? It’s one of the best spots on the North Shore for wave-watching — and if you’re lucky, you might even spot freshwater surfers chasing the perfect winter swell. (Yes, surfing. On Lake Superior.) Nature lovers will enjoy the wildflowers lining the quiet country road, while anglers can try their luck with lake trout fishing early in the season. And for those short on time or mobility? The lake views are spectacular from the comfort of your car. Located off Scenic Hwy 61 near mile marker 15 — look for Stoney Point Drive (Lake County 222).
