BIG INTO is a Twin Cities based trio featuring guitarist/vocalist Jozef Conaway, drummer/vocalist Curtis Kraft Mattson, and Duluth bassist David Mold. The band blends space rock textures, sharp punk leaning rhythms, and exploratory lyricism into a groove forward sound that is both expansive and controlled, drawing comparisons to Talking Heads for its rhythmic complexity and dance friendly sensibility. The Draco Volans are an Indie Rock trio from Duluth, MN. Catchy, guitar-driven tunes come courtesy of Austin Korkowski on Vocals/Bass, Chris Burgan on Guitar, and Antonio Davis on Drums. The Leave Alones are a 4 man garage band spawned from the misery and mediocrity of the 5 day work week. These guys just want to rock again, and they want you to rock with them. Featuring loads of loud sounds, snarky remarks , and self deprication for your listening pleasure.

However, past ice fests have offered more than just climbing! We typically try to run winter clinics (climbing, camping, etc.) and have forums for discussions and seminars on ice climbing.

The Art of Soldiering: Servicemembers, Satire, & Cartoons Soldiers and Marines have long used art to process the chaos of military life. Whether fueled by boredom, anxiety, or camaraderie, service members have channeled their experiences into poetry, portraits, and — most prolifically — cartoons. Join Wayne Gannaway, Executive Director of the St. Louis County Historical Society, as he explores the history of soldier-cartoonists. From professional illustrators to those who doodled in letters home, you’ll discover how art captured the universal trials of enlisted life: the "mail call blues," the struggle to stay dry, and the timeless friction with the MPs. Come see the presentation of historical cartoons Wayne discovered in his research at area archives, including those of two service members from Virginia....
