This opera tells the heartwarming story of Amahl and his mother. When three magnificent and weary Kings following a wondrous star knock on their door and request a night’s lodging, the impoverished mother and son welcome them in. Through their interactions with the Kings, Amahl and his Mother confront themes of poverty and sacrifice.
