    After two years of alternative programming, Lyric Opera of the North returns to in-person performance with Engelbert Humperdinck’s beloved Hansel and Gretel. Based on the Grimm fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel is layered with scrumptious melodies, engaging characters, mystery, and magic. Taking inspiration from the 47th parallel, LOON invites opera goers to wander in the boreal forest to enjoy sounds of some of the most sumptuous music of the last century. What: Hansel and Gretel, based on the Grimm Fairy Tale. Composed in 1893 by Engelbert Humperdinck with libretto by Adelheid Humperdinck Wette. Sung in English with English supertitles.
