Matinee Musicale Presents Pianist Reed Tetzloff
Reed Tetzloff, “an artist of broad musical tastes and individuality,” (South Florida Classical Review) came to international attention at the XV Tchaikovsky Competition, as “the lyric hero of the competition (Сноб Magazine).” He has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, and the Tbilisi Symphony, among others. He gives annual recital tours in Belgium, and his upcoming season includes a German tour. His debut album, Sounds of Transcendence, was noted for “kaleidoscopic colors” and “fervent rapture (Gramophone Magazine).” His 2021 Schumann disc, on the Master Performers label, was hailed for its “originality and uncommon perceptiveness (Voix des Arts).”

3rd Annual Sip, Support & Salute fundraiser will be at held at Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center. $10 entry to our fundraiser AND the museum! This also includes (1) pour of wine, beer or soda of your choice. You will also receive samples from our local food and beverage vendors. We will also have local food and beverage vendors selling their delicious eats and drinks. Food trucks onsite as well. Local artists and small businesses selling their crafts and goods too. Our own Auxiliary members have been busy making wine and painting wine glasses to sell as well! The talented Todd Eckart will be joining us singing tunes everyone will enjoy! Superior K9 and Bearcat SWAT track onsite. Donations received from local businesses used for the silent auction, bag raffle, meat raffle and grand prize drawing. The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute Concert
An evening of “up north” folk music is planned when Friends of the Fitz presents “The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute” Concert. The show is being presented as part of Superior’s Year of the Fitz, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald making her final and tragic port call to the City of Superior. The play-list includes such standards as “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Canadian Railroad Trilogy,” “Sundown,” “Carefree Highway” and “Rainy Day People.” Plus, of course, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” In 2007 Mackinaw City guitarist Mike Fornes assembled a band of four backing musicians for a salute to Canadian balladeer Gordon Lightfoot. The group’s work has developed into a stunning theatre show that replicates the Lightfoot concert experience.
