Your certified forest bathing guide, Barbara, will offer invitations that bridge the ordinary and sacred, celebrating a love story written in the winter woods. Deepen your attention and share moments of gratitude in the healing presence of nature and one another. Tea and light snacks conclude the experience. The Art of Wintering Well: Using Your Senses to Find Comfort in Winter (& Year Round)
Using your senses to find comfort is a powerful way to ground yourself and reduce stress. We will explore, through direct practice, how to use our 8 senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, taste, proprioception, vestibular and interoception) to shift our nervous system toward ease. Each date will be a “stand alone” workshop that will relate to but the will not directly build on other weeks. The workshop will occur on Saturdays from 10:00am – 11:30am at Halcyon House.
A Winter Dance Party Fundraiser & Memorial for Todd Eckart
We are combining our annual Winter Dance Party fundraiser for the Armory Arts & Music Center with an opportunity to honor the life of our longtime friend and musician Todd Eckart. No tickets for this event but a there is a chance to offer a freewill donation of $20 at the door. 5:00pm – 6:00pm – Social Hour and Silent Auction of Todd’s suit coats, ties and other memorabilia (organized by family) 6:00pm – Musical tribute to Todd by his band, AAMC Program with emcee Solomon Witherspoon, followed by more music and dance party including a dance contest with fun prizes. 8:00pm – Hugs, thanks you’s and goodbyes
