Plan Now For A Perfect Summer Night at Glensheen Celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2026, the Concerts on the Pier series is a FREE event every Wednesday, July – August. Bring a lawn chair or explore the grounds to find the perfect spot to enjoy music by local favorites. Come by car, foot or watercraft – all people and ages are welcome! Food and beverages are available for purchase. The event is free and open to the public from 5:30 to 8 pm. Gates open at 5 pm, however, for those interested, early access can be obtained by purchasing grounds admission or a tour. Each night, the opener will perform from 5:30-6 pm and the headliner will play from 6:30-8 pm. Paul LaJeunesse creates large-scale, site-specific murals that reflect the historic, identities, communities and locations. His work is rooted in research, collaboration and storytelling. Through his process he transforms public spaces into a shared narrative. Paul LaJeunesse received his Master of Fine Arts in painting from Bowling Green State University in 2006. He is an Elizabeth Greenshields grant recipient, and a 2007 Fulbright fellow where he created a body of landscape paintings in Iceland. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, with solo exhibitions in Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Missouri, Indiana, Minnesota and Iceland and group exhibitions in Saitama and Tokyo Japan, and numerous states in the United States. He is a public artist with 7 murals and multiple community murals. Write the Light is a free, family-friendly, sober-friendly, sensory-aware creative gathering held in partnership with the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum in Duluth. Join us on January 3, 2026, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. at 902 East 1st Street, Duluth, MN, as we celebrate the closing of the museum’s current exhibit and the featured artist in their gallery. This evening invites artists, families, dreamers, and community members of all ages into the historic halls of the Karpeles for an experience rooted in art, intention, and connection. The event features a Craft & Vendor Market showcasing local makers and holistic-healing services, along with several interactive stations open to all ages.
