IN THE ZEITGEIST ATRIUM: Boreality celebrates the skies and birds above the shore of Lake Superior. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a mural painted on polytab fabric, 8’ x 15’: it is available to be adhered to an exterior or interior wall. Panel paintings on cradled birch panels are also in the exhibition. Ann Klefstad, a sculptor and artist who has done many public art commissions in the region, has been impressed by the amazing clouds occurring this year. She has long been an admirer of corvids, and her sumi-e paintings of them are popular. In this exhibition, the two subjects converge. Klefstad is a recipient of a fiscal year 2025 Minnesota State Arts Board Creative Individuals grant, awarded to enable her exploration of mural painting on polytab, to expand her public art practice.
