Paddle With Pride | Jen West + Scarlett Woods: songwriter soft-landing Jen West is a musician from Duluth Minnesota. Her tunes range from happy go lucky to introspective and heartfelt melodies. She released her most recent single “The Scale” in April and is set to release one more single soon – ahead of a full length album! When not playing solo you can catch her singing harmonies with Woodblind ska. Eclectic Singer-Songwriter and guitarist Skarlett Woods can only be placed in one musical category: powerful. You race your friends in a head-to-head competition, while we play all the Mario Kart OST Hits! Sunshine Airport, Rainbow Road, everything your heart could desire. With Beck Fulin (Trumpet) and Devon Defoe (Saxophone), they add all the sweet and sultry horn lines that we could need. Our rhythm section consists of Marshall Dillon on Guitar, Luke Torrent on Drums, and Taylor Shykes on Bass. We’re here to play, and you should be too. 😉

Duluth Public Schools started the Unity In Our Community back-to-school event held at Bayfront Festival Park in 2022. Each year we celebrate our students, staff, families, and district. At this event, we have booths, speakers, school and community groups performing on stage, fun activities for kids, and so much more. We also continue to have a free backpack giveaway for families who need it provided by Neighborhood Youth Services and provide a free meal to all who attend. We also pay for transportation hubs around the city using our buses to help break down barriers. The 2025 event will be at Bayfront Festival from 3:30-7pm on Monday, August 18, 2025.
