’Tis the Season—to Step Back in Time! Celebrate the holidays with a glimpse into winter life at Split Rock Lighthouse and discover Christmas traditions from the 1930s. Join a guided tour of the keeper’s home, help us decorate for the season, and learn how families celebrated the holidays nearly a century ago. As part of the experience, guests can create a vintage-style ornament to hang on the keeper’s Christmas tree or take home as a keepsake. It’s a festive way to start a new family tradition! **NOTE**: The tours take place from 10:30 AM – 11;30 AM, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, and 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays except on 12/25

Celebrate Halloween with a creative twist at BOO!seum: Monster Masterpieces at the Duluth Children’s Museum! On Saturday, October 24, families are invited to explore the museum while enjoying silly monsters, creepy crafts, imaginative art activities, and plenty of opportunities to create their very own monster masterpieces. Choose from two event sessions, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. or 1–3 p.m. Costumes are encouraged, but never required, for this not-too-spooky Halloween celebration designed especially for kids and families. Expect hands-on activities, festive museum fun, and lots of wonderfully weird, colorful, and creative monsters along the way. Advance registration is required.
