Meet the minds behind the mermaid at this Art Night Out celebrating not only the short film itself, but also the full breadth of artistry required in the production of a project like Ish Meets a Mermaid. Hear from director, co-writer, and co-star Jonathan Thunder and producer Vera Bianchini about the building blocks of a short film — from props, to costumes, to lighting, to scheduling and beyond — with a panel discussion-style artist talk. Enjoy free snacks, drinks, and a live performance by artist Alex Kmett as you explore the galleries and see film-making from a new angle. Pay what you can, suggested $0-$50. This Art Night Out is a one-of-a-kind celebration of communication: a postcard-writing party! Enjoy free snacks and drinks, spend a social evening in the galleries, hear an artist talk with artist duo Cody Paulson and Stephen Pestalozzi, and sit down to draft and send postcards, plucked right off the gallery walls, to your friends and loved ones. Come early with a VIP ticket to enjoy a private farm tour highlighting the connection between regenerative farming practices and Voyageurs, a pick-your-own bouquet experience, and sip a drink, or join later for a relaxed atmosphere of pizza and music.
