Bentleyville Tour of Lights is a walk through holiday lighting extravaganza! SLCHS AND VETERANS MEMORIAL HALL TO HOST 20TH ANNUAL REMEMBRANCE DINNER ON DECEMBER 4, 2025 The St. Louis County Historical Society (SLCHS) and Veterans Memorial Hall (VMH) invite the community to the 20th Annual Remembrance Dinner, a special event dedicated to honoring our nation’s history and service members. The evening will feature local icon Dave Anderson (Northern News Now, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary), who will deliver the keynote address sharing his powerful interviews with local Pearl Harbor survivors. The dinner’s purpose is to continue to remember December 7th, 1941—the “Day that will live in Infamy”—84 years ago. Veterans Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum announce their next event in the local history presentation series, History in a Pint. The presentation “Hold the Line”, will feature storyteller/author Darrell Pedersen, the 2024 winner of the Northeastern Minnesota Book Award for Best Memoir. His book, “Campfire in the Basement: Reflections from a North Woods Lake,” reflect his deep appreciation and love for the people, critters, lakes, swamps, and woods of Minnesota. His latest book, “Who Will Carry the Fire?” Pedersen celebrates the long line of people who have been a part of the network that has worked together to make possible and to care for the amazing country and world that we live in. He honors parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles – even ancient ancestors. He will center his talk around some of the Veterans’ stories from his family tree….
