Grounded Threads: Circle Weaving with Tiffany Fenner

A beginner-friendly fiber art workshop. Learn to weave colorful wall hangings using circular embroidery hoops or metal rings. Learn how to warp a circular weaving frame, weave basic over-under patterns, and build texture using yarn, ribbon, and fabric, add fringe, beads, feathers, or hanging strands. Explore one of the oldest art forms practiced globally across cultures as a creative practice that encourages slowing down, focusing the mind, and working intentionally with our hands. Each participant will create a unique woven wall piece using colors and materials that resonate with them. No prior experience is required.

Socktopus & Between Howls

Music’s heading out to The Yard (weather permitting), so grab a drink, find a spot, and settle in! Socktopus is a 5-piece band dishing-out electrifying shows that leave you blissfully unaware of the laundry you left in the dryer. Fractalizing electro-pop-hip-hop, the Socktopus sound spans genres, served with heaps of our homemade secret sauce. Between Howls (Duluth, MN) are violinist Ren Howl & guitarist Nick Howl. The husband & wife duo’s unique blend of vocal harmonies, thoughtful lyrics and virtuosic instrumental arrangements have been drawing in audiences across the US since 2018. DIY Terrarium Workshop

Come get dirty and create something beautiful! In this DIY Terrarium-making class, we’ll be making terrariums containing live plants- along with moss, rocks/agates, and other decorations! Gender Joy Art Show Opening Reception

The 3rd Annual Gender Joy Art Show is being held from May 4th to June 27th with an opening reception on Thursday, May 7th from 5-7pm. Organized by YWCA Duluth and PAVSA and exhibited in the Zeitgeist atrium and Teatro, this year’s show not only includes artwork from girls, women and gender expansive people but features survivor artwork from PAVSA’s weekly Art Group, all representing how each finds joy in their gender. Event attendees will get a chance to express themselves in an interactive community art project hosted by Art of Presence and will have an opportunity to heal through collective action and see their collaborative piece evolve into a finished painting displayed for the remainder of the show. Frame It Writer & Artist Event

“Frame It” is a new exhibition that combines writing and art. Come to the opening reception where there will be over 30 local artist vendors! An open mic will start at 3:00pm. Listen as creatives share their work or take to the stage yourself! Free to attend. Celebrate writing and local artists in the City of Superior at the Douglas County Historical Society on May 3, 2026 from 2:00-6:00 pm.
