This Duluth Landmark began as a warehouse and manufacturing site in 1909. The 1985 renovation created the DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace, a multi-use building with a collection of retail shops, restaurants, conference rooms, offices and other small businesses.

The Clayton Jackson McGhie Memorial, Inc. was formed in June 2000. It was a culmination of years of individual people keeping the stories of what happened to Isaac McGhie, Elmer Jackson and Elias Clayton alive in their way. It acknowledges a dark history with hopes for brighter future.
