2024 Native American Heritage Day
Depot Stage - Historic St Louis County Depot 506 W. Michigan Street, Duluth, MN, United StatesSLCHS Native American Heritage Day is Saturday, November 23 from 11AM-3PM at the St. Louis County Depot (506 W. Michigan St., Duluth, MN 55802). Opening remarks begin at 11:30AM, with a panel discussion at 1PM on the ideas of citizenship and its meaning for Indigenous community members living in northern Minnesota. A free lunch of frybread tacos from The Food Stand will be provided, along with open museum galleries and craft activities for all ages.

The Festival is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Branches of the Slovenian Union of America, (SUA) and the St. Louis County Historical Society. The Festival is dedicated to honor and preserve the Slovenian legacy, heritage and culture. The program is designed to educate and expose people of Slovenian decent and the general public to the history, culture and ethnic cuisine of this important European nation. A special invitation will be sent to local Grade School History teachers to have their class attend the Festival. The exhibit was developed in 2024 by the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities and is co-hosted by Udac, a Duluth nonprofit established in 1969 to support individuals with disabilities. History in a Pint: Eagle’s Nest Photo Album
Lake Superior Railroad Museum 506 W Michigan St., Duluth, MN, United StatesVeterans Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum announce their next event in the local history presentation series, History in a Pint. The presentation will feature an item from our Collection known as “The Eagle’s Nest Photo Album.” The speaker will be Jay Hagen, the Veterans Memorial Hall Program Manager. It will take place in the Lake Superior Railroad Museum at the St. Louis County DEPOT on Thursday, October 23, at 5:30 pm. The Eagle’s Nest Photo Album is part of the St. Louis County Historical Society’s collection stored in the Albert J. Amatuzio Research Center. Veterans Day at the St. Louis County Depot
St. Louis County Depot 506 W Michigan St., Duluth, MN, United StatesThis year the Duluth Women of Today are joining forces with the Veterans Memorial Hall in sponsoring our 2025 Veterans Day Ceremonies. This year marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in the Great Hall of the DEPOT (506 W. Michigan St). The program will begin promptly at 11 AM and will include an array of patriotic music provided by the Spirit Valley Drum & Bugle Corps., the Superior Senior High School Choir, bag piper Kerry Welch and the National Anthem will be sung by Aalyiah Gebhardt. The guest speaker will be Bob Stephens, 10-year U.S. Navy Veteran, and regular member of the American Legion Hall Post #71.
