Located in the Skywalk, this is a must-stop for all things Lake Superior – books, maps, guides, puzzles, clothing, souvenirs, regionally made gifts and foodstuff and much more, including our beautiful Lake Superior Magazine.
Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center
It’s always free to visit the Lake Superior Marititme Visitor Center (or marine museum), though donations are gratefully accepted. The center is handicap accessible and restrooms are public. Interactive exhibits, season programming. School programs require teachers and chaperones present. No food, drink, or pets allowed in the building at any time. Movie programs available upon request.
Lake Superior Railroad Museum
The museum is proud to be open seven days a week, making it a great option all year-round. Stop by and see the impressive collection of railroad equipment unique to the region. The museum is self-guided, and takes about an hour to see it all – longer depending how much time you wish to spend with each exhibit.
Lake Superior Zoo
The region’s wildest place to explore and be inspired. Meet two rescued brown bears, talk with a parrot, and even hang with a two-toed sloth. See and learn about over 140 species of animals in indoor & outdoor habitats. Try our eight behind-the-scenes experiences. The Lake Superior Zoo is a place to have close-up experiences with animals to create connections with wildlife and action toward conservation here and around the world. We are located on more than 19 picturesque acres, including rocky hillsides, majestic pines and beautiful Kingsbury Creek. One of only a few Duluth attractions open year-round. Plan your visit to unleash your wild side. The Lake Superior Zoo is a member of Museums for All and works to limit financial barriers to visiting the zoo. Through this program, guests can visit for $3/person, up to four people, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. The zoo has also worked with the Duluth Public Library system to make 15 passes available for check out from the library, each granting admission to the zoo for four people. The Blue Star program also provides free admission to active military members and their families.
Lakehead Boat Basin Inc.
Lakehead Boat Basin offers 30 RV parking sites. Twelve of the sites have water, electric and sewer. These sites are located immediately to the right as you enter the gated area and overlook the main front dockage area of the marina.
