The Zeitgeist Arts building is a hub for film, food, art, and community in downtown Duluth. We are your home movie theater, performance theater, art gallery, and restaurant & bar. We thrive on connecting creatives and community members. We are a nonprofit arts and community development organization committed to growing and sustaining a community that is inclusive, diverse, and equitable; artistic and vibrant; environmentally conscious; and a place where every individual can thrive. Working in partnership across our region, Zeitgeist connects like-minded organizations and people to collaboratively create programs that make lasting change.

    The 3rd Annual Gender Joy Art Show is being held from May 4th to June 27th with an opening reception on Thursday, May 7th from 5-7pm. Organized by YWCA Duluth and PAVSA and exhibited in the Zeitgeist atrium and Teatro, this year’s show not only includes artwork from girls, women and gender expansive people but features survivor artwork from PAVSA's weekly Art Group, all representing how each finds joy in their gender. Event attendees will get a chance to express themselves in an interactive community art project hosted by Art of Presence and will have an opportunity to heal through collective action and see their collaborative piece evolve into a finished painting displayed for the remainder of the show. Light refreshments will be offered as well as an opportunity to learn more about YWCA Duluth and PAVSA’s work in our community. Most pieces of artwork will be available for purchase...

    Get ready to laugh your lab coat off as Duluth-area scientists try standup comedy for the first time! Join us for a night of laughter, learning, and libations as Science Riot brings its uproarious, in-person comedy show to the Zenith City! After surviving a crash course in comedy, local scientists trade their microscopes for the microphone and deliver hilarious takes and serious insights into their real-life work. Whether you're a science nerd or just love a good laugh, this is the place to learn the weird and wild secrets of science! Science Riot is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that teaches scientists how to do public outreach through standup-style comedy about their field of expertise. We help STEM folks make science accessible, relatable and engaging. The results speak for themselves: think late night monologue meets TED talk! Get more information about our program.
