Halloween Carnival
Lake Superior Railroad Museum 506 W Michigan St., Duluth, MN, United StatesJoin us for a spooktacular Halloween Carnival at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. There will be family friendly carnival games, creepy crafts, prizes, and more! A costume contest will be held at 5pm with prizes awarded in three categories: single, double, and group costumes. Half price admission $7/adults and $4/kids (3-13). This event is free for members and children 2 and under.

History in a Pint: Eagle’s Nest Photo Album
Lake Superior Railroad Museum 506 W Michigan St., Duluth, MN, United StatesVeterans Memorial Hall, a program of the St. Louis County Historical Society, and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum announce their next event in the local history presentation series, History in a Pint. The presentation will feature an item from our Collection known as “The Eagle’s Nest Photo Album.” The speaker will be Jay Hagen, the Veterans Memorial Hall Program Manager. It will take place in the Lake Superior Railroad Museum at the St. Louis County DEPOT on Thursday, October 23, at 5:30 pm. The Eagle’s Nest Photo Album is part of the St. Louis County Historical Society’s collection stored in the Albert J. Amatuzio Research Center. Duluthian Veteran Lawrence Swan brought home the album when the 101st Airbourne was given the privilege to be the first unit to enter Hitler’s infamous Eagle’s Nest during the close of WWII in Europe. Sharing his adventures as an employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad out of Chicago, Rainbow Trout was there when the steam engines gave way to diesel in the mid-century. A great storyteller, he will be sharing railroad stories from his perspective as a railroad electrician and roundhouse foreman.
