    Plan Now For A Perfect Summer Night at Glensheen Celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2026, the Concerts on the Pier series is a FREE event every Wednesday, July – August. Bring a lawn chair or explore the grounds to find the perfect spot to enjoy music by local favorites. Come by car, foot or watercraft – all people and ages are welcome! Food and beverages are available for purchase. The event is free and open to the public from 5:30 to 8 pm. Gates open at 5 pm, however, for those interested, early access can be obtained by purchasing grounds admission or a tour. Each night, the opener will perform from 5:30-6 pm and the headliner will play from 6:30-8 pm. This series is the premier Minnesota summer concert experience, featuring Duluth and Minnesota-made artists performing on our pier that juts out into Lake Superior. Concertgoers pack the shoreline and arrive to watch the show via every type of watercraft imaginable or sit along the shoreline. Openers perform 5:30pm - 6pm continuing with headliners from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.     Join us during your visit to view our special art exhibit, featuring pieces painted live at Glensheen by the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. Glensheen in Plein Air invites travelers to experience the beauty, history, and artistic spirit of Minnesota through a collection of plein air paintings created on the grounds of Glensheen Mansion. Produced by members of the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota, each work was painted live on-site, capturing the estate’s landscapes and architecture in real time and natural light. From quiet woodland creeks and vibrant formal gardens to the intricate details of the mansion and boathouse, this exhibit showcases the diverse perspectives of artists immersed in Glensheen’s setting. The spontaneity of plein air painting brings an immediacy and authenticity to each piece, reflecting not only the environment but the moment in which it was experienced.
