The Boat Club Restaurant hosts live comedy in the August Fitger Room, also known as the “third-floor comedy lounge,” next to the Spirit of the North Theater. Headliner Tommy Ryman, a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, is an acclaimed comedian. His oddly- adorable stand-up landed him No. 2 on iTunes comedy charts for his album Having the Time of My Life. Named Best of the Midwest at Gilda’s Laugh Fest, Tommy grew up in Minnesota jamming on clarinet for his new-age mom and kale-chip-making dad. He performs at top clubs, colleges, and festivals across the nation including the Great American Comedy Festival. Tommy was invited to be on Nickelodeon’s NickMom Night Out and has a full comedy special on Dry Bar Comedy. This week’s headliner is Mike Brody, who has hosted ten episodes of the Minneapolis TV series The Buzz. He is the official event comedian for the SyFy Channel’s Ghost Hunters, and he has also appeared on the nationally syndicated radio program The Bob & Tom Show. Show opener Khadijah Cooper was in the top 5 in the Best Comedian poll for City Pages’ Best of the Twin Cities. Beverages and snacks are available to purchase. About this event Feature- James Stanley was born and raised in Woodbury, Minnesota where he started doing stand up comedy at the very young age of 16. James now preforms all around the Midwest telling sharp, wonderfully funny stories about growing up, mental health, and his odd, semi-dysfunctional family. James Stanley was a semi-finalist in ‘Funniest Person with a Day Job’ contest and works regularly as a comedian at Acme Comedy Company and Laugh Camp Comedy. James has been featured in the yearly write up for 2021 Comics to Watch MN.
