Duluth for the Dudes: A Six-Pack of Bach Party Activities

Jenga

Looking for a little adventure beyond the bar? Crack open this six-pack of Duluth fan favorites for a well-rounded bach party.

DAY ONE:

Grip & rip @ Enger Park Golf Course

It’s no Vegas, but there’s definitely a time and place for day clubs in Duluth. Enger Park Golf Course is one of them. This 27-hole course features three nines, each with their own brand of parkland-, links- and traditional-style play. It’s a great course for a friendly scramble, which helps when your buddies find themselves in tree jail.

Brew tour @ Lincoln Park Craft District

Bent Paddle Brewing Company is a staple of any Duluth six pack. Their taproom in Lincoln Park features a popping patio, food trucks, live music, gastropub grub, and, of course, great beers. For chiller vibes, hit the new Cann-A-Lounge + Market for smoke-free cannabis products. The lounge is open weekly Thursday-Sundays. When you’re finished there, head down Superior Street for more local suds at Ursa Minor, Duluth Cider, and Wild State Cider.

Cheers @ the Rathskeller

Gather your scofflaws and head down to this Prohibition-busting speakeasy. Built below Duluth’s original City Hall, the Rathskeller is like a well-decorated dungeon with less torture. Toss back the local spirits (including Vikre Gin and Fitger’s Brewhouse beers) and ask about the legends behind the drinks. Tip: try the Gin Old Fashioned.

DAY TWO:

Sweat it out @ Cedar + Stone Nordic Sauna

Exorcise any hangover demons from your 2.3 million sweat pores, Nordic-style. A 75-minute social session at Cedar + Stone runs about $49 per person, well worth it for some wellnessing. If you have a big crew and really want to ball, you can rent the whole facility for one flat rate.

Paddle around @ Lake Superior

Mix in some water with a low exertion paddling excursion. Whatever your preferred vessel – kayak, canoe, or paddle board – you can find rental options and places to launch around town.  And for the love of everything holy, pack some sunscreen. Every group has a Larry the Lobster. It doesn’t have to be you.

Family dinner @ Burrito Union

Per their website, Burrito Union is a casual neighborhood Mexican cantina. They serve the usual: burritos, wings, tacos, taco salads, quesadillas, and more. Per local opinion, it smacks. Known around these parts as BU, this taco joint is also known for bingo and trivia. See their menu to inspire your appetite. Or see other options around town.

After that, go wherever the night takes you. Even if it means going back to bed.
