The Slambovian Circus of Dreams

Join the Slambovian Circus of Dreams as they bring summer fun to the West Theatre, Thursday, August 21st at 7:30 pm. This summer show features the band’s festival set list for a weekend swing through the upper Midwest! Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the “Slambovian” experience, this show is a must-see for anyone who loves original music with heart, wry wit, and soul. A psychedelic-folk-rock ritual that’s equal parts sincerity and spectacle – stirring up the “strange brew” they’ve been perfecting since the first gig at the theater in 2006! Their Woodstock-tinged psychedelia has a hint of southern rock, Celtic and British folk combined with solid songwriting – “groovacious” tunes and classic fan faves are on the menu! This return to the West Theater brings a psychedelic-folk-rock ritual that’s equal parts sincerity and spectacle – stirring up the “strange brew” they’ve been perfecting since their first gigs – a slice of Americana pie that is irresistible!

“A breath of fresh air in a sometimes stagnant world – especially as a live act – with varied eclectic influences and great musicianship. Plus moustaches, hats and stage presence gild their Interesting and thought-provoking lyrics for the curious adult mind.”
– Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull
Musical influences of Dylan, Bowie, Incredible String Band, Syd Barrett, and The Waterboys can be heard – yet the Slambovians’ musicianship and critically acclaimed songwriting stand on their own. Joziah (the resident shaman of Slambovia) leads with vocals described as “soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic.”
Longtime bandmates Tink Lloyd (accordion cello mandolin flute) and guitarist/mandolin wizard Sharkey McEwen bring their magic to the Slambovian brew with “a little help from their friends” – RJ McCarty (keys banjo sax) Bob Torsello (bass) and Matthew Abourezk (drums).
