Creation Spirituality — A spiritual tradition that reconnects all the dots of everyday life in this generous, creative Universe.

Creation Spirituality, with its emphasis on Original Blessing and the four paths of the Via Positiva, Via Negativa, Via Creativa and Via Transformativa, celebrates joy and our sensory/sensual experiences; honors grief, silence and darkness; awakens / acknowledges our creativity and inner artist; and calls us to social and ecological justice.

CS provides a vocabulary for naming and framing our lives, and views our spiritual and earthly experiences as one, not as the “sacred and profane.” Drawing inspiration from the mystical traditions of world religions, wisdom of Indigenous peoples, insights from science and cosmology, and the real world experiences of all human and non-human beings, Creation Spirituality invites back into harmony all that has been alienated by dualistic, patriarchal religions and human institutions.

Richie Townsend is a musician, tai chi / qigong teacher and a student of Creation Spirituality for over 30 years. He has a BA in religious studies from the College of St. Scholastica and Doctor of Ministry degree in Creation Spirituality from University of Creation Spirituality, Oakland, CA.
