GND REC SUMMER JAM

The GND REC Summer Jam is a free event.

The Jam starts with skateboarding demonstrations by Real Skateboarding professionals featuring former Skater of the Year, Mason Silva, at the state of the art GND REC skatepark at 1pm. There will be demonstrations and contests for all levels.

There will be a bounce house and kids games coordinated by the Boys & Girls Club.

The DTA (a Chicago / Steely Dan tribute band) begins playing greatest hits at 4pm in the outdoor GND REC performance pavilion.

There will be two food trucks; Room at the Table doing their fabulous smash burgers and Gumbeaux Guys doing the best Cajun food in the area. Additionally, we will have Fran’s world famous hot fudge sundaes.

The Gary-New Duluth recreation area located at 801-101st Avenue West also has a playground focused on pre-K to age 12, gaga pit, dog park and basketball court with four square and hop scotch. There is something for everyone.
