SUMMARY:History in a Pint: Bees & Their Affect on Local Agriculture
DESCRIPTION:Jadell Cavallin is the owner of Little Waldo Farm in Two Harbors\, and has been involved in the local and regional growing community for over a decade. She will present on the current state of honeybees\, native bees\, and how this affects local agriculture. \nCavallin is a volunteer master gardener emeritus with the Lake County Extension Master Gardeners\, a second term board member for the Lake Superior Sustainable Farmers Association\, a grower member and board member for the Farm and Forest Growers Cooperative\, and co-manager of Lake County Humane Society. She also serves as a volunteer Pollinator Ambassador with the University of Minnesota Extension\, and is a Certified Pollinator Steward with the Pollinator Partnership. She has participated in the Two Harbors Farmers Market for over a decade\, and her farm is one of 11 local small farms that make up the Clover Valley Farm Trail. \nProviding Community Education courses focused around gardening and pollinators\, her long-time experience in honey beekeeping\, growing a variety of plants in northern Minnesota\, and all around nature inspired resourcefulness\, brings her love for all living things full circle when able to share stories\, food\, and connection with others. \nTalk begins at 7:00 PM\, so stop in early to grab a table and enjoy some food and drink.

SUMMARY:History in a Pint: 1000 Miles to Nome
DESCRIPTION:Emily Ford is a winter adventurer and thru-hiker based in Duluth\, Minnesota. She has completed many thru-hikes in the Midwest\, including the 1\,200 mile Ice Age Trail which crosses Wisconsin from Potawatomi State Park to St. Croix State Park on the Minnesota Border. In winter of 2022\, she completed a solo 180-mile ski route across the Boundary Waters Canoe Area & Wilderness with er Alaskan Husky\, Diggins. She now spends her winters running sled dogs in Alaska & Minnesota. In 2025\, Emily finished the 1000-mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race from Anchorage to Nome. With an understanding and drive to show that anyone can adventure and everyone deserves to discover the outdoors\, regardless of race\, gender identity\, or upbringing she continues to seek adventure and represent the underrepresented in outdoor spaces. \nStop in early to grab some food and drink before the presentation starts at 7PM!
