SUMMARY:Photography & Art at the Rock: Featuring Ryan Cairl
DESCRIPTION:August at the Rock is about scale\, detail\, and the art of seeing the landscape in full. \nWe are proud to feature Ryan Cairl\, a landscape photographer whose work is inspired by a lifelong connection to the outdoors and a desire to capture the same sense of wonder found in the places we explore. \nRyan’s passion began early\, shaped by family trips to national parks and the iconic imagery found in postcard scenes — moments that sparked a goal to create images that hold that same beauty and feeling. \nWith a background in mechanical engineering\, Ryan brings a technical approach to his craft\, specializing in panoramic photography. By combining multiple images into a single\, highly detailed composition\, he creates photographs designed to be experienced at a larger scale — where every detail comes to life. \nHis work invites viewers to step closer\, take their time\, and fully immerse themselves in the landscape. \nRyan Cairl will be onsite to share more about her work on the following dates: \nAugust 22 | 10 am–6 pm\nAugust 29 | 10 am–6 pm

SUMMARY:Book Signing: "Perseverance: A Memoir" by Mark Dayton
DESCRIPTION:Join former governor Mark Dayton for a signing of his memoir Perseverance with a foreword by Hillary Rodham Clinton. \nIn his own words\, Perseverance: A Memoir details Dayton’s life story\, including his childhood in a dysfunctional household\, his political awakening\, his early life in politics\, and his friendship with Senator Paul Wellstone\, whose call\, “We all do better when we all do better\,” served as a lodestar for Dayton’s ongoing work. \nThe book ends with a postscript on our current moment in public life. In addition to providing an enduring record of recent political history\, Dayton’s memoir offers case studies of problems being remedied swiftly under leadership motivated by empathy. Perseverance provides occasion for conversations of consequence and substance\, today and for years to come. \nMark Dayton served two terms as the fortieth governor of Minnesota\, from 2011 to 2019. His other elected offices include state auditor and US senator. \nGet your copy of the book signed and meet Mark Dayton. Books will be available for purchase.
